Be careful when you embed your location!

blogloc offers two options for sharing your location: the static map badge and the embeddable Google Map.

• The static map badge only provides a rough picture of your whereabouts. In other words, nobody would be able to find you in real life just based on the location of the marker on the map image. It's also not possible to find out your coordinates by looking at the source code of the page. The static map badge is a safe way to share your location!
• With the Google Map, on the other hand, visitors of your site can zoom in and view your location with much higher precision! Also, visitors are able to find out your exact coordinates by looking at the HTML source code.

Even though it is not possible to find out your exact location from the static map badge, malicious visitors could still extract your blogloc username from the HTML source code: In order to prevent that such users track your exact location by manually entering the URL of the Google Map in their browser, ACCESS TO THE GOOGLE MAP IS NORMALLY BLOCKED BY DEFAULT to protect your privacy!

In other words: If you only embed the static map badge on your site and DO NOT EXPLICITELY ENABLE the Google Map in your application settings, your exact location is protected.
