Got a GPS-Enabled Phone?

If your phone has GPS (either built-in or as an external Bluetooth accessory) and supports Java then updating your blogloc location is as easy as it gets - with the blogloc bloglocator!

Please note that the bloglocator transmits small amounts of data over the Internet (less than 2 kBytes per update). Your service provider may charge for that. Please inquire with your operator if you are unsure about your data tariff.

Step 1: Download and Install

The bloglocator is beta. At the moment, it was only tested on a small number of phone models. But if your phone is Java-enabled, and not too old, there's a good chance it will work. Contact me if you have any questions - or to report another compatible phone!

Version: 0.3 betaDownload
Supported phones: MIDP 2.0/JSR-179 compatible devices. E.g.: Nokia E51, E61(i), E65, E71, N71, N78, N82, N85, N95 (8 GB), N96, 6210 Navigator, 6650.

To download directly to your phone go to the blogloc mobile site at http://blogloc.no5.at/m.

Step 2: Start the Application

Enter username and password after starting the bloglocator for the first time. (You can always enter the settings screen later to change your password. Just press '*' on the startup screen.)

Step 3: Update Your Location via GPS!

On the startup screen, press 'SELECT' to start. Wait until the GPS has acquired the signal and press the left softkey to sync your live location to blogloc.
